What to buy? Which is better?

I haven't played heaps with Wasp, but I have with Hornet. Fire would net you a number of kills, but I'm sure your D/L will be lower than usual. As for Freeze, you may play better than Fire if you utilise its effects against enemies. Using Wasp/Freeze M0 against low ranked players (yeah, this might not mean much, but it's an example nonetheless) I was able to get 11 kills in Serpuhov before my first death, not even using supplies (just boxes). The reason being, they couldn't land many hits on me; I was behind them and they were frozen. Although Freeze isn't really powerful, it can still be used to play well. With Hammer, you'd be able to stay out of your opponent's way with more ease, depending on the map. I wouldn't really take Isida, although it is in the Ant kit. If you used it in less intense situations, it might do fine, but I just think that Wasp's low health isn't good enough. Fire kills quickly, but Isida is slower. The self healing would be a good asset (in afterthought). Fire kills quickly, so it might be alright with Wasp. Freeze can avoid enemy damage, so it could be fine depending on the situation. Hammer should work well thanks to its range, and I'm not sure about Isida. Hammer would probably be my bet, but Fire or Freeze could do fine, too.

Unless you are playing in Poly/smaller maps, Titan won't really catch many golds. You are right, though; Titan's power can win gold boxes if it is in the right place. As for how well it performs. In Poly DM it tends to top battles. Haven't really spent much time in those DMs, and haven't met many Atlas users there, maybe because of the price. In Noise, I don't think it'd be the best for raiding the blue base, as it doesn't deal out a large amount of damage quickly, just a steady amount that works best against one or two targets, not five like in Noise (I am referring to the clusters of people around flags in CTF). I might be biased, but Viking appeals more to me than Titan simply because of the speed. I have M2 Mammoth (Bulldozer kit) and I only use it in Poly DM and other close spaces. I only feel its speed is good enough to round a corner. Do not even think about that box over the field, unless you have nothing else to try to achieve. A Hornet or even Dictator will appear and beat you to it, also taking away half of your health when they get that double armour you were trying to reach. Titan has more speed than Mammoth, and isn't as bulky, but it is, nonetheless, slow. I'm sure you can tell that I'd go for Viking, unless I spent most of my time in Poly. Titan M2 has 315hp, and Viking has 230. A standard Hornet M2 has 139. Titan's speed is 5.6, while Viking's is 8.2. Hornet's is 10.4. Looking at the statistics alone, Titan's health looks really impressive (and it is). Its speed is not, though. Viking's speed is enough to keep enemies easily in your sight, unlike Titan (besides on Poly, where there is always an enemy in your sight). With speed boost, you can almost stay level with that Hornet using Viking. In Poly (DM) or other cramped spaces, I would side with Atlas, but elsewhere Northerner would be my choice. Smoky isn't best in tiny maps, anyway. Atlas for golds in minuscule maps, and Viking elsewhere; Titan couldn't ever catch a gold in Kungur. Sorry, nowhere near your rank, so you'd be able to decide yourself better than I could. Anyway, Hammer would be best with Titan unless you were playing in Ping-Pong, where anything goes. I'm pretty sure Fire goes before Freeze, though. Fire or Hammer? Hammer isn't great against heavy hulls, is it (?), and if you were using Titan, chances are you are playing against other Titans. When it comes to using other hulls, none of those three turrets would have much of a problem surviving, (depending on maps).

You don't have any decent paints yet, so either go for a kit or a paint alone. Desert looks good in medium ranges. I haven't used it, but 5% protection on Twins and Smoky probably wouldn't do much. Near 30% against Rico sounds great, although you may not see very many of them; not sure which maps you play in. 10% hammer is a bonus. If you want a simple paint then it seems okay. Don't expect it to make you invincible, though. As for Fire protection, I hear Storm is really useful. I haven't used it, but believe me, Firebird is pretty common throughout all ranks. It's up to you. Storm is more specialised, but you can usually find a Firebird in every second match. Desert offers very nice Rico protection, along with a number of smaller benefits. Rico isn't as common, though.

What to buy? Which is better?

Well, in Poly CP at my rank Atlas does alright, although I don't really see it very much. Often first to second place. The Firebird paint would help. Personally, I hate opposing Smoky more than a good Shaft (when it's shooting me, that is), so the kit's a pain to deal with, in my opinion. Titan M2 is a good deal, and Smoky easily matches my M3 Thunder in most cases. Back to Poly, I think there are probably better places for Atlas, as there is only one CP and Smoky doesn't perform best in the middle of the map. I would stay on the outside, meaning that you will get more kills and you won't die as much, but neither will you get points from capturing. You'd probably want to play in DM or elsewhere for best results. Don't worry about Pitbull, then. The cost is too much if you aren't sure about it. I'd believe that Atlas could easily last you until you can buy an M3 (Brig and later). The only slight issue I would maybe have, myself, is that Smoky doesn't perform excellently in small maps, and neither does Titan excel in large. I would want to switch out the Titan for a lighter hull in some matches and vice versa with Smoky. So for more general use, maybe go for Northerner. Again, all the parts of Atlas are great, but they only work well together in particular situations (medium maps, it seems). Individually they could all last fine long into M3 ranks, but together when with/in the wrong maps/situations/enemies it'll only perform average. Trying not to put you off it; this is only my opinion. I haven't used Atlas before, so I might be very wrong. Play in the right maps, and you'll do fine. Hope this helps you, too.

What to buy? Which is better?

Well, your Fire M1 (depending on if you have MU'd it at all) and definitely your Twins M1 could stretch right out to captain, and you'd still be able to finish in the top end of battles if you play well. Unless you are an XP freak; really good at it or just obsessed with it (you said you weren't, really) then forget about Tornado (148k). I only see it once in a while at my rank, and people who use it tend to manage to stay only just above 1 in their D/L ratio. It's nothing really excellent, so don't worry about it. Pitbull (210k) is really good; Hammer M2 works well if you use it well, as I've seen many people do. Not sure about Hunter. If you want a medium hull with low power, drift when at speed and with a decent amount of speed then take this kit. Same goes for Atlas (186k) and Northerner (190k). Smoky is top-notch, so it really depends on the hull you want. Also, Winter isn't really the best paint unless you play long ranges (you can stretch it to use in medium). Loam is good, as Firebird is quite common. As for Boar (152k), I have seen it become invincible with a heap of MUs. Near M3 Rico and Dictator are unstoppable... Without MUs, I'd say that it is only slightly above average compared to other kits and turret/hull combos that hang around. I don't see them much at all at my rank, probably because Rico doesn't have the highest damage (again, it's average at M2, no more). If you want the cheaper and easier option, then Boar would last you probably until Brigadier at most, if you want to push the limit. I'm (semi) sure, though, that you would want to buy another M2 once you have it. Rico is only average, and to pay 150k for that.. Smoky or Hammer? It's a pity that the Hammer kit costs so much, but if you could afford it, then go for it. I wouldn't say it is very far off the Smokies. As for Smoky, again, it is easily one of the top M2s. Pick which hull/paint you want, and voila. I'd go for one of the Smoky kits, or Hammer (the downside to Pitbull is its cost). Hope this helps.

What to buy? Which is better?

Am a big fan of short range turrets; I won't have any trouble there. As for Shaft, you spoke my thoughts. I'll definitely not go for that first, anyway. Thanks for your help. Still wanting other people's opinions; they help greatly.

What to buy? Which is better?

Is buying Freeze M1, Shaft M1, then Wasp M1 (already have Titan M1) a suitable plan until later on? On a low rank account, I've got around 20k to spend, and a heap of M0s to use. I want to try different weapons/hulls to what I did in the past, which means not buying Smoky or Firebird, nor Viking or Hornet. I don't want Thunder either (Using it at M0 and M3 is enough for me). I'm keeping in mind that I'm not trying to absolutely dominate with fancy kits, etc. If a nice kit appears, I'll buy it, but I would do the same with a full price turret (on this account, that is). I'm just trying new things. I could buy Shaft right now, and it'd pair with my Titan M1 or lighter M0 hulls nicely. I thought that Freeze might be a bit more reliable, though (buy this first?). As for hulls, I have Titan M1. Wasp is cheap, and I could survive with it, but I'm still open to other hulls (besides the mentioned). So, should I buy Freeze, then Shaft and Wasp? Or does everyone think I should switch out a hull/turret for a different one, besides Fire, Smoky, etc..

What to buy? Which is better?

Gave Smoky a miss. Will just save for something else; had Smoky on my original. It works fine, but I would like to try something else anyway.

What to buy? Which is better?

Have tried that, and it does work. Thanks. Anyone else? I think I'll give it a miss.

What to buy? Which is better?

Is this a good idea for a Sergeant-Major account without any M1 turrets yet? I've got Titan M1, and use other M0 hulls. Have only 10k at the moment; spent ~5k crystals on MUing. Thanks.

What to buy? Which is better?

I know I have a while to go, but it would be good to know: Which standard M3 turrets are considered best/ most effective (non-MU'd)? A list of a few (top three, for example) would be nice. It'd help me decide what to save for. I was thinking that I may go for Medic kit. Am still completely open to other ideas (depends on my crystals, how well my turrets work at the rank, etc.).

    Newspaper Requests!

Turret/hull comparisons are always good fun to read.

What to buy? Which is better?

It'd obviously be better long-term. I cannot help you much more than that; I've had neither, and you could just look up the stats yourself. M2 could only be MU'd to M3, while M3 can go much further than that (saves multiple buys long-term).

What to buy? Which is better?

Depends on the modification. For M1s: I would say that Firebird is better than Isida, but you need to be able to use it well for it to be so (obviously). Isida, although not quite dealing as much damage as Firebird, can heal, and if you play carefully, it would do better than Firebird (health steal helps). Isida costs much more, but is generally better. EDIT: I think I'm semi-biased towards Firebird. I used it on my main account right up till M2s. Micro-upgrading helped, I had MU'd my reload to max, so my Firebird was probably better than many. Again, Isida has more potential, I think, but either can work well. Thunder M1 is much better than Railgun M1, in my opinion. However, everyone seems to like Rail, and therefore they buy that instead. Railgun can be used to win battles if you are good with it, but the same goes with Thunder. Thunder also has splash damage, which includes the negative of self-damage. I'd say that Thunder has more potential, with the splash and instant damage instead of zero splash and a charge-up when you fire (Rail). Anyway, that's what I think. Hope it helps.

What to buy? Which is better?

On the test server, I bought M2 Rico and M2 Titan (could afford both with 200k), yet it didn't register. I had them equipped, then when I entered the battle I was still using M0s... I lost the crystals, but got no equipment in return..? Anyway, that was probably lag or something. The servers were overloaded, I think. I'll just make a new account.

I start with 200k only. How do you get more? You cannot use commands anymore, can you?

What to buy? Which is better?

Bought Tundra and definitely don't regret it. I can survive an M2 Rail shot with double damage now (with a Hornet M2) and plenty of shots from M1s and M2s without DD. Thanks for making my decision easy.

How many MUs are in your Thunder?

What to buy? Which is better?

I'm ready to buy Tundra right now, but I'd still like to see what more people think (should I buy Tundra?). Thanks Zenith and Rohit, I'll probably buy it soon.

What to buy? Which is better?

Should I buy Tundra as a cheap buy to protect from Railgun when needed? Please look at my profile, and answer soon. I've got 83k and will be spending a little bit on Thunder during the MU sale. After that, I'm saving for Medic (or another kit, but I think Medic will be a good choice). I don't want to waste my crystals, but am willing to spend the 21k on Tundra.

What to buy? Which is better?

I see no reason why it wouldn't. The only problem would be as you get higher, the combo would become less effective. Hornet cannot really withstand much at higher ranks (stock M2) and Rico would need a stronger hull to survive. On the other hand, if you play smartly and carefully you could still finish higher up on the leaderboard.

Tanki Picture of the Day - Have any?

New kit: I'm getting better with it, but I prefer Thunder with my Hornet.

What to buy? Which is better?

I don't like spending on un-superior items (M2s, for me, and I'm not saying that M3 Freeze or Thunder is rubbish; I've just got Thunder and really like it. I just need practice...) because of the prospect of getting something better. For example, I'm forgoing paints because I want the Medic kit in the future. If I buy a paint, it'll take twice as long to get it. I think of it as waiting a little longer for something much better.
  24. Bluebird13

What to buy? Which is better?

Pretend that you have no crystals. To me, your plan sounds good enough. Only problem is that (unless you MU) Freeze isn't a very strong M3 (from what I've heard) and Thunder is not the best either. I cannot speak against Railgun; I don't have it and haven't played against it much. However, my weak Hornet M2 survives a shot if I have DA, although with less than half health. Anyway, if you get Hornet then you can play XP, where you'd definitely be on par with others.
