That's my point. They pick and choose what questions they want to answer and not all the questions--especially the tough questions that might make them look bad. Or greedy. Or whatever. I get it. It's a business. But answering questions about skins and paints doesn't address the questions some of us have repeatedly asked for years. (Please don't ask me what those questions are. If you are unsure, just go through the thread and see the ones that are repeatedly asked. Those are the questions that the developers have not given an answer to. Thus, there is no 'responding properly'.)

can confirm: through walls.

Read Spy's statement again. Simply 'reading' or 'picking up' a question does not imply 'responding properly'. As Spy stated.

One could have an opinion that this line of thought could also apply to the 'questions to the developers' thread...

What Is Your Opinion About the Current State of Tanki Online?
Jeers4U replied to Maf in Game Discussion
And there are a significant number of complaints in the compliments thread, so it's even worse than it appears... -
A curious thing just happened to me in a game. Deathmatch, bobruisk, most tanks within GS1-2k apart average seems to be 3k. I get one-shotted through a ramp by a 2k enemy rail/viking (My GS3k, firebird/wasp). Glitch? Lag? I keep playing because it's tough to find a fair game. Same guy one-shots me from the other side of the map. During re-spawn, I can barely see a clear path (to me from him) for his shot. Lucky? I keep playing. He one-shots me three more times during game play and I decide to look at his score. There is 5 minutes left in the game. His score is 6/12. Five of his kills are one-shots against me during eight minutes of game play. My team mates tanks are same or less as me in GS/rank, yet he only has 6 kills and 5 were against me. For kicks, I report him and he disappears from the arena with 3 minutes left in the game. My final k/d was 15/13 and a third of my deaths were from that rail. My question/complaint is: Can anyone logically explain what just happened in that game? The probability of that happening--as a natural occurrence of gameplay-- is so insanely low.

(Since you deleted my blunt question, here it is again so as not to make people here cry, so I'll rephrase the question.) The MM mechanics wiki says: "Matchmaking creates a battle with certain rank limits. If, upon reaching a certain waiting time, players are not enough to create a battle, matchmaking can expand the rank-limits of the created battle so that more players of different levels can take part in it. However, the teams remain equal among themselves in terms of the players' Gear Score: if a player who is too weak or too strong suddenly appears in one team, matchmaking will assign the second such player to another team. If there are free places in the battle that has already begun, matchmaking can add new players to it." But the wiki doesn't say the mechanics of HOW it chooses those players for the free spaces, because it's clear vassyr was added to the game as it progressed. Just wondering how a Major General vassyr (GS 9069) would be put in an arena against a team with a Warrant Officer 1 VXO (GS 823)--13 ranks lower? Total team Gear Scores are also WAY apart at +10k Here is another one in case you think the first one was an isolated incident...

when are you going to publish the survey results?

Ranks mean nothing. I've never supported MM by rank. However, by default, adding a clueless legend with 9999GS to a battle to 'fill an arena' will have a 99% greater chance of killing a 2000GS because they naturally do more damage. Skill, teamwork and timed assaults make a winning team--everything else being equal. What is happening now is the higher GS tanks slaughter the weaker tanks. Skill and teamwork aren't needed when you are THAT powerful. THAT is what is happening now. You wouldn't have to add tanks with higher GS to fill the arena in order for the battle to start. Some would call that phenomenon: skill. There isn't a fix for 'people who leave' under any system. So this really isn't a point. People leave now. People leave when they see they're battling legends. People leave before the match finishes. Battles already die right now. They won't change anything. MM has been a well-documented issue for YEARS. The only way the devs will change anything is if people stop paying to play this game. Then you can bet--overnight--they'd fix it. I am not a fan of waiting for bots because bots won't add new players to the base, while an UNfair game will always lose players...

Not sure I have to read it if you are making excuses or advocating for an UNfair game based on impatience. ? I have always encouraged MM based on Gear Score AND smaller arena sizes. That way it becomes MUCH easier. How do you know? Are you guessing wait times will increase drastically based on... what? Are you a programmer? A developer? What? Fixing it is as difficult as you want to make it. If they wanted to fix it, they would. Look, dude, it has to change. No one is going to sign up for an UNfair game. It really is that simple. Nothing else matters as much. I'm not sure why anyone is having such difficulties understanding this based on 'reasons'. World Football: Fair--unless you put Premier League players (Legends) against Division 3 (Third Lieutenant) in the same game--like tanki does--then no one would watch/play, right? This is literally what is happening here at tanki. Sounds like I'm raging on you, but I'm not. I fail to understand why anyone makes excuses for the completely flawed MM system. It's the reason why we all play this game. To test our 'skill' at this game versus someone else's on an even playing field. Lets just fix MM first and see how many other issues disappear after that. One step at a time. A fair game: first.

Agree 100% with you. I have suggested the same thing. But I find it funny that--for whatever reason--they seem to keep trying to explain HOW MM works. And it's like, dude, I know HOW it works, I'm telling you HOW it works isn't fair. It's like I'm speaking a dialect of gorilla-grunts that they can't understand.
-
A Third Lieutenant should never EVER be put into a battle with Legends just to fill an arena. That is 15 (FIFTEEN) ranks higher Basing the MM system on something that may or may not happen at 2am is ludicrous. MM: Broken Keys: Fluff

I will never ever spend any money on this farce of a game. And it's hilarious they take themselves so seriously with all the moderators, administrators, and helpers. There's probably more of them than actual players now. Tanki getting roasted in the game chat today

My, my some little forum moderators have been busy deleting so many posts. And while everyone is all giddy and nerding out to the prospect of keys... Event mode still sucks as bad as MM. Higher gear scores on top. Lower gear scores on bottom Nothing ever changes at tanki

Fluff update.

I probably should have put this here because the feelings police will delete where I originally asked it. What time would you say tanki started its slow death spiral? For me, it would be when it introduced the totally superfluous and unnecessary Gauss turret. I know some will say 'floaty tanks' as the beginning of the end, but for me, that was just a continuation of it. Gauss signified the complete lack of new ideas. It's just thunder with a louder bang. I apologize if this is anyone's favorite tank. Anyone else?

...like an UNfair matchmaking system?

doesn't make them enough money.

I think he just wants a balanced MM system. He doesn't really care how it happens, he just wants it to happen. Like you, me, and the rest of us.
-
Just played a game where there were only 7 actual tanks (out of the 12 listed) in the arena playing. Tanki, if you're going to make fake tanks to fill a battle, at least make it LOOK like you aren't trying to skrew the real players over. eyeroll
-
I know. There's no point in helping anyone who does not wish help. If Donald Trump was a game, tanki would be it. It's sad and I'm not sure how that kind of attitude infects the people who work for tanki. I predict the results of the survey are never published. They're probably making excuses for its contents already.

I'm questioning your logic. That you don't know why players have left--because you cannot ask them. Btw, I wouldn't admit to being a developer here either.
-
I don't think I have ever said MM was the only reason players have left. If I did, please quote where I said that. If you follow any of my posts, you'll see that I have correctly identified dozens of reasons why people leave here and never return. UNfair MM is definitely a main reason, but by no means is it even CLOSE to the only reason they leave. Again. Spoken like a developer. Are you ready to admit that you are a developer--or equivalent? Or do we need to continue to pretend that you aren't? Look, dude. Listen to me. We are players actually telling you what we like and dislike about your game that you created. You want to quote Vlogs from 5 years ago as to why this game isn't crap today? Go right ahead. No one in this thread who has commented that MM needs to be fixed believes a word you say that it doesn't need fixing. Not one word. So then what exactly are you arguing? What is your angle or thought process? Your general story of saying 'well, we had to do (update) because of (excuses), and we had to do (update) because of (excuses)' will never ever change the fact that here we are with a dwindling player base year after year--with you trying your best to maximize profits from those remaining, and attract new players--while still trying to disguise the (update) with (excuses) as necessity-driven instead of profit-driven. I mean, really, you are creating fake players (bots) now to play the game. Let's let that sink in for a moment. You can't attract and retain real people with real money to play this game, so you are going to try fake players--instead of fix a problem that real players have identified. All the updates you 'carefully considered' long term, all the 'effect of ideas' you thought would make you more money, all the (updates) you thought would attract new players (and retain the ones that are still here) aren't working. But instead of actually trying to fix MM--probably the biggest complaint of the players who remain--you've tried everything else BUT that. And failed. Will you not actually consider making MM fair--using the suggestions provided here by real players--and see if THAT fixes some of your dwindling player base problem--instead of justifying (update) with (excuses)? I mean, the fact that you are even arguing with me about it shows how completely out of touch you are with a significant portion of your remaining player base. Just fix it. You are a smart fellow. You can do it. I believe in you.
