Being a Noob has nothing to do with equipment. "Noob" is a way of life.

I assume the way group MM works is it creates a new battle, puts one group on one side and another on the other side, and then fills the remaining slots with solo players. But you are right that such groups would require other groups of 5-6 players to be found, and that can prove to be challenging.

I don't consider any map good for MM when it gives players the ability to capture 5 flags in just over a minute. I admit having intense battles in a densely packed map can be fun sometimes, but it rarely caters to game balance. I disagree with you about some of the other map choices, but that's just a matter of personal preference. I wonder how our views will change after the upcoming 16v16 experiment.

I'm 24 and I barely consider myself an adult. In fact, I bet some of the older folks that meet me still see me as a kid. But thenI see how most 14-17 year olds behave, I consider them to be children. No offense if you're in that age range ? Obviously there are exceptions on both ends of the spectrum, but the whole point of what we're saying here is that Tanki's target audience is children, because they are the ones who have the most free time and have the highest chance of spending money. Believe it or not, but devs implied that the total income from kids spending $5 of their pocket money every month is actually greater than those rich adults that throw thousands into the game on a regular basis.

But the thing is, people were abusing the "confused" reaction in order to convey a negative response, and they were using it in this way a lot more than using it for its indended purpose. I feel like that's less applicable with the "hmm" version, and if you need clarification for a certain post, the best thing to do is quote them and say which part you don't understand. I don't think I ever saw a confused reaction on my post and decided to reply to that person with clarification.

StarLadder eSports was closed because it cost far more to operate than the benefit it brought to the game, since Tanki's popularity was already on the downhill trend at that time. It was a choice driven by financial constraints, and devs didn't actually want to get rid of partnership with starladder.

The total map pool consists of 35 maps, the list of which you can find here. Whether or not they all have an equal chance of getting picked is a different question. I don't know either. I said it before and I'll say it again — the current selection of MM maps makes no sense. Maps that are small and/or have terrible level design (Sandal, Sandbox, Massacre, Highways, Brest) have no business being in MM, even if they did get changed a bit to make them fitting for 8v8 gameplay. On the other hand, fun maps like the ones you mentioned got left out for whatever reason. Are you sure this isn't just confirmation bias? Yesterday I remember having Industrial Zone come up a lot of times, and it feels like it was the only map I played. But if I think about it harder, I remember that I played like 20 battles, 3 of which were on Industrial Zone, but also has Massacre, Osa, Kungur, Parma, Sandal, Year 2042, Silence, and a few other maps I can't recall. That fits into the concept of random map choice pretty well. Sometimes it does feel like I haven't been on particular maps for absolute ages, but I can't be sure that it's not because I'm simply unlucky (or lucky, depending on the map).
-
Absolutely not. I was there when the battle list existed, and I remember it very clearly. 90% of the battle list taken up by Silence, Polygon, and Sandbox. 9% taken up by Duel, Noise, Highland and a couple other maps. The remaining 1% is a couple battles on rare maps with 1-3 players each and no one else joining. It sucks that MM took away our ability to pick the map we play on, but it sure as hell improved overall variety by forcing people to play on previously rare maps.
-
I don't know, from my experience it's mostly waiting for 30 minutes only to have no more than 5 people joining at the same time. At that point I give up.

As others said, the game changed a lot and our views of it also changed. Back in 2012 I viewed no-supply (PRO) battles as a superior form of standard battles, and something that a player should aim to participate in once they reach a point in Tanki where normal gameplay is no longer interesting. Developers gradually changed it into the current system, where MM battles is what everyone plays, while PRO is just a bonus feature for particularly enthusiastic players who wish to customise their gameplay and play around with different settings. I still think there is high potential for PRO battles to be interesting, but unfortunately no one cares non-standard battle types, so unless it's Silence CTF, Polygon CP or Sandbox XP/BP, no one will join the battles you create. And since most of the cool changes and events happen in MM, that's what everyone talks about.

We're not adding negative reactions. If you disagree with a post, quote it and leave a proper comment.

1) How do you propose we enforce the rule? I'm sure you realise that most children, when a website asks them if they're over 18, will always say yes. And before you suggest anything like it — asking for proof of age is not an option. 2) How can you be sure that the players that are ruining the game for you are children? 3) Over the years I've met plenty of immature and rude adults that act like toddlers. On the other hand, I also met well behaved and polite children. 4) Define "meaningful game" and "spoiling the game". If you mean high levels of skill and cooperation, then separating by age will have no effect on that. If you mean behaviour in chat, then the right thing to suggest is an option to block/ignore players, not segregation by age. Regardless, there is no way MM is getting split, since any kind of division will make the matchmaker twice less efficient (meaning wider rank brackets and/or longer waiting times).

I swear, like every 1 in 5 ideas we get is about Juggernaut. Why do people wanna improve it so much? ? I'm not saying it's a bad idea, but it's just so... disproportionate.
-
I'm proud to be one of the people who actively heal with the OD. At least for my team's Juggernaut, because in his case it's actually really useful cos you can quickly heal him to full with the OD. But there's an obvious reason why people don't do it — there's no score for healing people with OD compared to killing enemies.

You mean a 10k word article?

@ControlledChaos said that they should all follow the same style, and the "hmm" one didn't fit with the others. I may change them back. So far all feedback about them was negative...

16v16 seems fun. I'm just concerned about one thing — supply duration is way too brief for maps like Berlin. Might have to resort to using Supplier drone, but either way I feel like CTF will be ruined. Other modes will probably be more fun though. Looking forward to trying larger maps in MM anyway.

There's no requirements for starter posts to be professional. Feel free to edit it yourself, but I have nothing to add ?

From the image it looks like your turret could actually be in line with the enemy tank on the turret's vertical axis. Since you're on a slope, your turret's auto-aim changes from absolute vertical to somewhat angled (but still aligned with the turret's vertical axis), allowing you to hit the enemy from that position. I can't quite tell, but if the screenshot is from mobile version, then the explanation is much simpler because in TO Mobile turrets have horizontal auto-aim, creating a sort of cone of fire like in the first reply here. I removed those posts from TPotD and made them into a new topic in Game Discussion since it's more fitting as a separate discussion.

Literally same. I've been asking for it for AGES and, oddly enough, it's the one thing that I hated most about HTML5. I'm so glad this is added. Tho tbh I kinda got used to going into settings to enable fullscreen :P Honestly this whole set of changes is great. Awesome QOL update!

It's clearly an alt account that isn't being used much. Even if he only did missions every day, with the current experience rates he'd be much higher rank by now. That being said, in the post you quoted I said "developers' logic", implying I don't necessarily agree with it, but that's what it is ?

Hunter's delay is the one thing that makes it at least somewhat possible to fight against when you use any hull besides Hopper. Remove it and it instantly becomes the most OP hull in existence. For that reason I'm actually glad that Hopper is able to counteract the stun, but I also fully acknowledge that Hopper is a ridiculously overpowered hull. I'm almost certain that Hunter won't be getting any changes, but instead Hopper will get nerfed. And I doubt it will get a delay, but what's more likely is that the stun mechanic will either be reduced in range, or somehow reduced in power (e.g. it no longer makes you drop flags and balls). For the time being, if you use Hunter, just make sure to keep an eye on enemy Hoppers and never use your OD near them if you can see they have theirs ready. Or just equip stun immunity if you have it. Also the OD charge needs to be fixed, because it's ridiculous that you can jump, score a goal, respawn and instantly have OD again.
