  1. This one would be very nice, but it's on the German amazon, you'd have to see whether it's available in your country too. The one you've mentioned is likely to run slightly better than your current laptop, but that's about it. You wouldn't notice much of a difference, probably. And before you want to do anything crazy, make sure the laptop you're getting has the right keyboard layout. Germany uses QWERTZ, it's quite different. But in general, good processors (CPU) for your use case are the Intel i5 1235U, Intel i5 1335U, AMD Ryzen 5 5500U and AMD Ryzen 5 7530U (or better of course). With Intel, it's important that the CPU has Intel Iris Xe graphics, everything else pretty much sucks for what you're looking for. 8 GB RAM is barely enough nowadays, 16 GB is recommended. SSD storage type is very important. With these, you should be able to run Tanki smoothly, with a not too expensive laptop. May be that there are older generation CPUs or slightly weaker models from Intel and AMD that have the same graphics and perform similar to the ones I've mentioned, but I don't know enough about them to recommend anything. You could also think about getting some "Mini PC" with similar specs. They're cheaper usually, but you'll also need a new monitor then, and a keyboard+mouse. It may be possible to use your current laptop as the monitor, but I doubt its keyboard etc. would work with the Mini PC.
  2. That CPU, the N97, seems to be weak, and the integrated graphics don't seem to give you enough performance for Tanki on high settings. I'll send you some via PM
  3. A laptop with an RTX 2050 for 800+ euros, with only 8 GB of RAM, is straight up scam. For around the same price range, 600-900€, you can already get some with the RTX 3050 and 16GB of RAM, with current gen CPUs. That's maybe already overkill for Tanki.
  4. If I were you, I'd save a bit more and go with laptops in the range of 500-600€. They offer a significant boost in performance since they have newer processors, and most of them also have 16 GB RAM. I don't know where you're from, but there's lots of deals on Amazon currently, maybe you could find something good. The best integrated graphics are Intel Xe, or an AMD equivalent. I wouldn't recommend to get anything with Intel UHD or worse. Any RTX graphics card should outperform integrated graphics.
  5. Any GPU that goes by the name RTX will outperform integrated graphics (for example Intel Xe) and 8 GB RAM are barely enough for today's standards, it can happen that you just run out of RAM, which may cause stuttering. Tanki's recommended CPUs are more than a decade old, but it would still be good to know what CPU your laptop would have. You have to consider that the bigger the GPU, the more power will be needed to run your laptop, so the battery will drain faster and the laptop will run hotter. I don't know enough about that hardware to guarantee whether you will be able to run the game at max graphics, but depending on the CPU, you should be able to run Tanki smoothly, in one way or another.
  6. I'd just save for something decent, honestly. Any new laptop for 300 bucks or less won't last you long, and you will have to go from one 300 bucks laptop to another. For that price range you could get something that's used I guess, but that's about it. From what I know, you don't want a laptop with eMMC storage since it's slower than SSD, and I'd recommend getting one that has more than 8 GB of RAM.
  7. Aiming on a mobile device or a gamepad is more difficult than on a keyboard. That goes for every game, and every game adds an aim assist for those platforms, it's normal. I know, it's "their problem", but still. What every other game is also doing however, is giving PC players the option to not encounter players from other platforms, as playing against an aim assist is just frustrating for us, especially once they figure out how to play with their different controls. That's one problem Tanki has, since we don't have this option. I doubt it's something difficult to implement, for PRO battles at least. But, as I said, I have the assumption that the scripter's aim assist is based on the code of Tanki's. So, if I were a developer, I'd experiment with something that disables aim assist for those other platforms instead, but still allows them to join the battle. This way, you'd make it fair for PC players since especially gamepad users wouldn't benefit from their aim assist anymore, but you could potentially also get rid of all the scripters. The problem here is that everyone is solely focused on matchmaking, which is in my opinion at least, anything but a competitive game mode. If the game needs something right now, it's a stronger competitive aspect. I'm not only talking about XP/BP (but that's honestly as competitive as Tanki can get). And since matchmaking covers by far most of the playerbase, I get it why no one would care about an aim assist. If the game were more competitive, you'd see more people complain about this. But currently, Tanki is just a random, pointless matchmaking grind, so... why would anyone care?
  8. Could be that you run out of RAM, which can cause stutters. What hardware are you using, CPU etc?
  9. And I really don't want to imagine how many are using this stuff in matchmaking too, you know. There it feels like it's more difficult to notice. But this hurts XP/BP, or "Railgun Master", more than anything else, because it's by far the most competitive thing that Tanki has. The question should not be if they give us the option to disable horizontal aim assist in PRO battles, but when will they give it to us.

The gamepad's horizontal aim-assist is a huge problem and NO ONE REALIZES IT

I am honestly starting to lose faith in every single one in this community. Not only because people think that hitting through walls is simply lag. Here is what is going on: the game is still littered with players who run scripts via browser extensions, which seem to be difficult to detect, as those players have been doing this for months. Their main feature is their own aimbot/aim assist. Those hacks started circulating around end of 2023, that's around the time Tanki was experimenting with the horizontal aim assist for mobile players (which is legit of course). My assumption is, that script developers somehow reverse-engineered Tanki's code, found whatever handles the aim assist, and introduced it to their scripts, which people can use to obtain aimbot on PC. And it was pretty easy to notice who was running such scripts, as their shots would appear to hit players through walls, like I have shown in this topic already: https://en.tankiforum.com/topic/398006-hacking-situation-is-getting-out-of-hand/ So it was actually easy to report them for scripting, and at least in some cases, those accounts also got rightfully blocked. However, the problem now is that people who aim using a gamepad (and mobile too of course), hit players through walls literally the same way as scripters do, since gamepads offer Tanki's legit aim assist. This makes it borderline impossible to report actual scripters now, since their excuse will always be "I was playing on a gamepad, I'm not hacking". I have a theory that you could fix this for PRO battles at least, for matchmaking this would not work. In PRO battles, the developers need to give us an option to allow or disable horizontal aim assist for every player who joins that battle. This means that tankers aiming on a mobile device or a gamepad would lose any kind of assistance, which could significantly impact their gameplay sadly. BUT, in case script developers actually did reverse-engineer Tanki's code to figure out the aimbot themselves, this could potentially mean that their own aimbot would stop working too, since it's basically set up using Tanki's own code anyway. This could "fix" the horrid situation in PRO battles, but sadly not in actual matchmaking. The horizontal aim assist is unfair anyway, even if you're not a hacker, since once you figure out how to play on mobile/using a gamepad you're good anyway, and any additional assistance does nothing but simply putting you above others. So, an option to disable aim assist in PRO battles would really be appreciated (besides it being something that had to be there from the start). Us not being able to tell who is hacking and who is not anymore is really bad. There could be an icon showing what controls players are actively using when in the Tab menu, maybe a keyboard for tankers using keys/mouse to play, a phone for mobile players, and a controller for gamepad players. Why I emphasized the word "actively" is, because the game shouldn't take someone who has a gamepad connected to their PC directly as a gamepad player; it should only, when those controls are actively being used. It really baffles me that no one is thinking like this and that no one cares at all.
  11. You have to give us an option for PRO battles at least, that when creating a battle, lets us allow players on different platforms to join it or not. Lots of popular games have this, it's called enable/disable cross-play, for those who don't know. The problem is that the controls in this game are not complicated, people will figure them out eventually and just have an advantage with their now even official aimbot. As if the scripts that are going around are not already bad enough.
  12. Well, developing an anti-cheat is unfortunately a never ending battle. Even big publishers, such as Riot Games, struggle immensly against cheaters. Seemed like most of Tanki's playerbase wasn't aware of how big the cheating business (yes, business, cheats are paid) actually is, that's why I made this topic. There's actually even more shady stuff going on in the background, that people use to make money with Tanki. Anyway, now at least some more forum users are aware of the cheating/scripting problem ?
  13. I don't like it either that there has to be a browser version, as it allows the usage of scripts, to gain unfair advantages over other players (aimbot for example, which has been a big issue in recent times). But well, if it wasn't a browser game, there would be other kinds of software to cheat anyway. Probably a big chunk of the playerbase are playing using the browser, so removing browser access could lower the player count. Doesn't seem like it's an option right now, but the devs surely know best. And as far as I remember, they're working on something big regarding the engine. We'll see, eventually.
  14. It takes quite the effort to rewrite the whole game, you know. On top of that, Tanki has the "problem" that it's supposed to run on browsers too, and I can imagine that that makes it even more stressful to switch engines.

    Goku's Videos

I've been playing Tanki for quite a while (since 2011 ), and decided to start recording my gameplay recently. I'm uploading mainly XP/BP gameplay and highlights. Hope you enjoy! Also, feel free to ask questions regarding what software I use, what settings I have etc. Maybe I can help you out, in case you want to experiment a bit. Here's some of my videos, I'll be posting the newest one in the replies:
  16. This definitely feels like some joystick related change. Wasp turns at lightspeed now, lol. I have a fully upgraded Wasp, and in XP/BP it keeps turning as if it was Mk8, compared to before the update. Not sure if that's a bug.
  17. I hope me telling you this is not bannable lol, but the website is tankirating.org It tracks stats only if your account is signed up and you regularly update its page. You're not asked to enter your password by the way, so I'm pretty sure it's safe. I honestly wonder why the official tanki rating page doesn't track your stats like that.

    no encuentro mi perfil

My friend, if your or any profile is not showing, it just means it's set to private in the in game settings. Log in into the game, go to settings, then security, and uncheck "Hide your profile". May require some minutes for the system to notice the change, but eventually, you should be able to see your profile.
  19. There's a website where if you sign up your Tanki account, you can track for how many hours a day you're playing Tanki. In 2023, acca had been playing for an average of almost 7 hours per day, it's nuts. Sometimes 10+ hours a day, multiple days in a row. In 2024 so far, he's "only" at an average of 5 hours per day. No wonder he's Legend 1000... or should I say, Legend 1004.
  20. I loved the bullet load bar. The old GUI had so much character somehow, now it's just that standard mobile-ish interface.

  24. Lag is the period of time between one event and another (could also say latency in this case, latency=ping). High ping delays everything you see and do. When someone is pressing W to drive forwards, you see it happen way later than when they actually started, due to your high ping, which means you lag. You're a lagger unfortunately, my friend. Everyone is lagging to some extent, by the way. Ping is the time it takes data from your computer to go to the servers and back, in milliseconds. The higher it is, the more you're out of sync, the more you lag.
