Well, developing an anti-cheat is unfortunately a never ending battle. Even big publishers, such as Riot Games, struggle immensly against cheaters. Seemed like most of Tanki's playerbase wasn't aware of how big the cheating business (yes, business, cheats are paid) actually is, that's why I made this topic. There's actually even more shady stuff going on in the background, that people use to make money with Tanki. Anyway, now at least some more forum users are aware of the cheating/scripting problem ?

I don't like it either that there has to be a browser version, as it allows the usage of scripts, to gain unfair advantages over other players (aimbot for example, which has been a big issue in recent times). But well, if it wasn't a browser game, there would be other kinds of software to cheat anyway. Probably a big chunk of the playerbase are playing using the browser, so removing browser access could lower the player count. Doesn't seem like it's an option right now, but the devs surely know best. And as far as I remember, they're working on something big regarding the engine. We'll see, eventually.

It takes quite the effort to rewrite the whole game, you know. On top of that, Tanki has the "problem" that it's supposed to run on browsers too, and I can imagine that that makes it even more stressful to switch engines.

I've been playing Tanki for quite a while (since 2011 ), and decided to start recording my gameplay recently. I'm uploading mainly XP/BP gameplay and highlights. Hope you enjoy! Also, feel free to ask questions regarding what software I use, what settings I have etc. Maybe I can help you out, in case you want to experiment a bit. Here's some of my videos, I'll be posting the newest one in the replies:

This definitely feels like some joystick related change. Wasp turns at lightspeed now, lol. I have a fully upgraded Wasp, and in XP/BP it keeps turning as if it was Mk8, compared to before the update. Not sure if that's a bug.

I hope me telling you this is not bannable lol, but the website is tankirating.org It tracks stats only if your account is signed up and you regularly update its page. You're not asked to enter your password by the way, so I'm pretty sure it's safe. I honestly wonder why the official tanki rating page doesn't track your stats like that.

My friend, if your or any profile is not showing, it just means it's set to private in the in game settings. Log in into the game, go to settings, then security, and uncheck "Hide your profile". May require some minutes for the system to notice the change, but eventually, you should be able to see your profile.

There's a website where if you sign up your Tanki account, you can track for how many hours a day you're playing Tanki. In 2023, acca had been playing for an average of almost 7 hours per day, it's nuts. Sometimes 10+ hours a day, multiple days in a row. In 2024 so far, he's "only" at an average of 5 hours per day. No wonder he's Legend 1000... or should I say, Legend 1004.

I loved the bullet load bar. The old GUI had so much character somehow, now it's just that standard mobile-ish interface.

They'll be "fixed" once certain people give back certain territories. Until then, we're going to face problems.

Why do my shots appear as though I'm hacking, even though I'm not?
Son_Goku replied to DefkwargX in Archive
Lag is the period of time between one event and another (could also say latency in this case, latency=ping). High ping delays everything you see and do. When someone is pressing W to drive forwards, you see it happen way later than when they actually started, due to your high ping, which means you lag. You're a lagger unfortunately, my friend. Everyone is lagging to some extent, by the way. Ping is the time it takes data from your computer to go to the servers and back, in milliseconds. The higher it is, the more you're out of sync, the more you lag. -

Would have been cool if you had also provided footage. But yeah, you just have to understand that it's really frustrating to play against high ping players, everything you see in your POV is incredibly delayed compared to others. That's why many games have servers in different locations, so players from one end of the world and the other don't end up in the same match, because of exactly what is shown in the video that was posted. There's nothing you can do regarding your connection to the server, besides hoping for some breakthrough in connection technology. Moving to some country that is closer to the servers is a possibility, I guess As others have pointed out, your shots "miss" by a good mile and still register the damage, so I see why they'd think you're hacking. But if you were using aimbot, your shots would go through walls too. I hope Forum users start understanding the difference between aimbot and lag now... -
That's not the vertical hack, that's aim assist, which he has by injecting scripts if he's a PC player. 1st clip is funny, he is clearly aiming for your teammate, but his aim assist ended up hitting you instead, because you were closer to him I'd assume. That the 2nd shot goes through the wall is because of lag, the tank he hit wasn't behind the wall in his POV. But yeah, I've tested it out with mobile Tanki's aim assist, and it happened quite often that it looked like I shot through walls like that, in similar situations. It's especially sus when you see players hitting others, not you, through walls. You need to report him in the Russian forum and follow the rules in that section, and see what the moderators think. Posting it here like this will get you nowhere, unfortunately. I also keep saying that the hacking situation is wild, but no one believes it.

It's working as intended. The camera angle is bound to the turret when using keyboard controls. You rotate your turret by pressing X and Z, so it changes the camera angle as well, since it's bound to the turret's rotation. Not the other way around. So, you can't rotate the turret, you can't change the camera angle. That's why people switch to mouse controls, because keys are limiting you.

It's not the matchmaker's fault, the whole game is simply flawed. Main issue is that people can rush through all ranks, and end up being at the Legend rank without knowing how to turn their turret. The playerbase just sucks, no matchmaker will ever fix that. And the gap between players is huge and will remain huge, because there simply are not enough players currently. What I could imagine helping is decreasing the size of both teams and making games shorter. You can't change the matchmaker without having a solid playerbase, it wouldn't increase the queue time by just a few seconds - rather minutes, because there are hundreds or whatever games going on at the same time, and all of them would try to be balanced. Which will simply not work.

Suggestion is simple, give us the option to allow or disallow mobile (and in future console) players from joining PRO battles you create. Next to the aim assist people are using on PC with their scripts, the mobile aim assist is also starting to become a problem. If you figure out the controls on mobile, it's nothing more than a cheat against players who can't have it. So, there should be an option to toggle on/off cross-platform play in PRO battles, as it would make the gameplay on PC more enjoyable in some cases. Sorry to all mobile players, I understand the need of it, but it's annoying to deal with.

We can now copy messages from that new chat history, which is pretty cool for translation purposes etc. But instead of having to select the whole text by hand, why isn't there some button that copies the whole message when clicked? Maybe some small button to the left of the each message, or whatever is preferred. Would be a very nice QoL addition, I feel like.

Maybe try logging out and logging in again on Twitch, or try to link with other accounts, just to check if that would work? Not sure if clearing cache and all that would do much, but maybe give it a try too.

If you shoot your railgun, first it charges and then it shoots. This change means that the charge is 10% shorter, which is actually a buff since it increases your rate of fire.

To report someone via video, you have to go to the Russian forum under the section marked by the arrow: Then, create a topic in the underlined section, post your video and describe the crucial timestamps. You can write in English.
-
Everyone is just gonna tell you this is miscalculations, no point in posting it here. Scripts have got really bad over the last year and unfortunately, no one is talking about them and even somewhat acting like they don't exist. The only thing you can do to get such people banned is go to the russian forum and first of all hope that your video counts as evidence (which is also insane), and then describe every crucial second in detail with timestamps. I'd also say that that is aimbot btw, especially because of that situation with the bridge at 0:21. Their aimbot didn't find a shot on you and hit your teammate instead, because he was in the aimbot's range. I bet the player who hit your teammate there giggled himself. Scripting is really easy and has gotten out of hand, we can only hope that the devs wake up and do something. I'm starting to feel like they have 0 info on em ? But yeah, sad to see that literally every game is getting swarmed by cheaters.

I can imagine the servers still being under constant DDoS attacks because of what is currently going on in the world, "fixing" that is unfortunately not the easiest of tasks. I don't think this will be fixed until certain people retreat from certain places.
