  1. If they had to show a "net positive customer appreciation" to stay in business, they would be gone by now. So few good changes, so many bad, its amazing that so many people stay as long as they do.
  2. Okay, here's the scoop on my missions today. If I used supplies in completing them, I get a NEGATIVE GAIN (loss) from them. :o (This excludes one I saved from the "bigger rewards" era that will take me another 4 days to finish. ) Mission 1: get 500 XP, collect 10 Speed Boost (useless to me, as I have thousands) and 8 Double Armor = 900, really only 400 Mission 2: finish first in mission, collect 6 speed boost, 6 Double Armor = 600, really only 300 Unless I play this all in the increasingly rare and competitive Pro Battles (which cost me 5000, remember), I will actually be PAYING TANKI TO DO THESE TWO DAILY MISSIONS.
  3. Yes, but as I suggested, the XTs may have been in a "queue" that he wasn't changing, or the quota may have been used up for that day or those days. I have not been offered it again since I changed out of it.

When a DM is not a DM

I've seen far too many instances of "teams" in Deathmatch that share kills and do not attack each other. While this is a legal tactic (kill the other guy then we fight), to have two or more "cooperative" tanks in a deathmatch with less than 6 players puts the other tankers at a decided disadvantage. This has probably been talked "to death" but I just wanted to point out that it seems like it should be a breach of the rules. It is blatantly obvious when it occurs. I guess I should be flattered to think they need to gang up on me rather than get waxed one at a time.

    Gold Boxes!

I took advantage of the wounded to get my 2nd Gold Box today. I normally catch 1 box every 2 weeks! In Polygon, there was a flipped tank atop the Black Cover that sticks out from the grandstand. I happened to be climbing after a kill and saw that the flipped guy was lying right there and would catch it, if he wasn't killed first. So I jumped on his back! (Fortunately the dreaded Self Destruct of the Stack did not kill me.) This is one of the few places a Gold Box might actually land on the surface before anyone gets it!
  7. Yes, but if you do complete them, the combined rewards are greater than the old gifts. I would like to see MORE OF THE NECESSARY BATTLES POSTED (not created by players) when a Daily Mission calls for playing in one. I am about 1 in 4 in creating missions people will join.
  8. (I said earlier) ...until I *created* one, there was NOT ONE CP BATTLE on those 12 servers (General to Gizmo). Last Monday I found 32 CP battles at the highest rank at that time of day. What is the big change?? --- I created another Poly CP Pro this morning, and it was popular. After changing the mission for "Collect Gold Box" (I never get them, and seldom try)...I got TWO of them today. :o
  9. << That is why we no longer have the option to exclude it unless you're willing to PAY for a pro pass. >> Yes, and I notice that except for XP battles, there is a dearth of "drug free" battles these days. I suspect that they are no longer being seeded (i.e. not removed when everyone leaves) because they don't require players to use crystals to succeed (read: survive) in a drugging contest. Yes, I use "drugs" (supplies) whenever appropriate. I earned them, so I use them.
  10. Umm, I looked back and it looks like some MU's were RAISED IN PRICE as well: to fully MU a Gizmo paint runs easily 250K-500K crystals. You need a great tank to earn that much without buying.
  11. Weird Ship! I got a mission to get 300 points in CP mode. It was NOON MOSCOW TIME and I checked EN 1 thru 4, and RU 1 thru 8, and until I *created* one, there was NOT ONE CP BATTLE on those 12 servers (General to Gizmo). Last Monday I found 32 CP battles at the highest rank at that time of day. What is the big change?? Fortunately, I completed the mission on my new battle.
  12. That was my suggestion since they may be on a different rotation. I tried two experiments: 1) Change one free and one paid VS Change one free, let the other float, then change it the next day 2) Change one free and one paid VS Change one free and two paid The two did not produce any expected improvement, suggesting that rotation is random WITHIN THE INDIVIDUAL MISSION, e.g. if you change the left one, it gives you a DIFFERENT change than if you change the right one, or the center. You cannot get to the same point by changing different missions. It may be randomized or it may be from a staggered value list by difficulty (e.g. if you pay to change just once, you get a mission that is worth more than the original by that amount...or would have if they hadn't fudged the rewards by 50%).
  13. See my other suggestion. The rotation of missions is not random, and may even be day-dependent. I would have tried changing all easy missions for a couple of weeks to see if it replaced it with a harder one, and so forth. But I had XT and turned it down.
  14. The whole "too many crystals ruins the economy" argument is fallacious. There was a short term drop in revenue from the smaller buyers. But remember: The more we earn, the more we spend, and soon we reach the higher ranks where everyone needs powerful equipment. That's when Tanki pulls in the big bucks: 250,000 for a paint job is more than they spend on painting the Verrazano Bridge.
  15. Indubitably. Fair is fair.
  16. Shirley you jest.
  17. Yes, being a formerly extravagant (but cost-effective) buyer, I got both XT offers. But by dropping them, I got an extra mission each day that more than compensated me for the loss of the treasured XT...of course, I would never have used it anyway. B) Not knowing for certain how the change rotation works.... Not to rub salt in the wound, but it is entirely possible that the rotation of missions does not go linearly, i.e. if you had changed ALL THREE MISSIONS once each day (1 free, spend 2 x 1675 = 3350) you might have found the XT after 10 days or so, and just spent 33,500. Or then you could have given up. I can't say for sure, but you might have upped your chances and spent less. That's just what I would have tried.
  18. Well, tell someone he's got to put in the same effort for half the rewards, and of course he'll say "Thanks! That's great!" I was lucky enough to get two long-term missions at the old rate, so I'm set for 10 or 11 days. Meanwhile, I have to go with the bro's and say, "Couldn't you have tried reducing them 30% instead, experimentally???
  19. Nobody said you were wrong. We were just complaining to keep them from lowering them right away. ;)

Jokers in our Chat and Forum

< IronElves said > In chaos theory, the butterfly effect is the sensitive dependence on initial conditions in which a small change in one state of a deterministic nonlinear system can result in large differences in a later state. The name of the effect, coined by Edward Lorenz, is derived from the metaphorical example of the details of a hurricane (exact time of formation, exact path taken) being influenced by minor perturbations such as the flapping of the wings of a distant butterfly several weeks earlier. <snip> And a 100-foot butterfly might accidentally create tornadoes in Kansas. The SF story that took this to the logical extreme was Ray Bradbury's "A Sound of Thunder" (published the day I was born, in the June edition of Colliers!) http://www.scaryforkids.com/a-sound-of-thunder/

Ideas that will never happen in Tanki

I do something like that if I see a team stuck in a Waiting Game with no opponents: I put on my "target suit" (checkerboard no-help paint) and let them play against my "dangerous target that shoots back" until another player joins as an opponent. Then I play normally. ;) No one in their right mind would join alone against 3 or 4 opponents with no prospect of a new team.

Make Shaft do "grievous damage" and kill the wounded tank slowly if it doesn't get healed. Kind of a "festering wound" like Firebird causes.

    Let's Discuss PRO Battles

Mixed bag. I have seldom seen a long battle go to the team that started it. Eventually one side starts to give up and a clan or raiders show up and the battle swings the other way. And on a non-time limit, they go on interminably...so I would never be in one that started early in the day. I spent 7 hours in one, fighting almost constantly to keep things from swinging out of control (Spawn killing usually signals the end of competition, although a comeback as above is not out of the question if enough of the leading side gets bored and leaves). There was one in Rio the other day, and after about 9 hours the losers started quitting. A group of tough raiders showed up, but after about 10 minutes they saw the lead was too great (would have taken 3 hours at best to make up the score difference). So they all left too. Returnees dragged the battle on through SEVEN "team empty, battle ending early" alerts, til finally it did end early.

    Daily Missions have gone live!

Based on my experiences, as many as 45% of players NEVER learn this. They just take them, even on team battles. Of course, sometimes you have to -- if you are being attacked, you don't want them available to the attackers just as you have about finished one off! :o

    Daily Missions have gone live!

Here's a short summary of my primary 3 Daily Missions: 700 XP = 2345 crystals Drop Boxes = Supplies (par value 2800 crystals) 300 XP = Supplies (par value 3350 crystals) Total collected = 7495 crystals If I change one, I get one for supplies worth 3300-3400 crystals. Could be total par value 7650 total. (a little low) It is possible to complete all 3 missions in 2 battles of either 15 or 30 minutes each.
