I noticed a weird pattern. Maybe it's just coincidence but I don't know. I played a lot of battles yesterday and this morning. Yesterday, I pressed Quick battle and it sent me to a CP battle. No biggie (CP is my least favourite mode). But after finishing every battle, Quick Battle loaded me into a CP battle 9 times in a row. Now, I would have had a serious problem with this if I wasn't using Shaft. Using Shaft was the only thing that made CP fun on that account. This morning now, The same spell happened where Quick Battle put me in 6 CP battles in a row. Again, I was using Shaft but it was annoying to be put into my least favourite game mode more than 2 times in a row. It's hard to say that it was all a coincidence but may it wasn't. Who knows?

Couldn't remember the dates of each but I remember what I got from the past week. I also caught some container golds which gave me more results than usual. 125x Double Armours x 3 125x Mines 125x Double Damages x 2 125x Speed Boosts x 2 100 of all Supplies 25,000 Crystals. All of the container golds I caught were commons. :(

valid Protection modules decrease 10-15% the impact force of the weapons they are protecting
TheCongoSpider replied to Strikechard123 in Ideas and Suggestions
Firebird and Freeze's protection module decreases the heating and cooling rate of the turret. It still gets to maximum and minimum temperature, it just takes longer to do so when the target has protection against them. If I remember correctly, it used to do what howitzer is suggesting. Players with 50% Freeze protection were able to fight back as the minimum temperature was increased to .5 (presumably) and it looked like they were barely frozen at all. -
This was the first alteration I bought for Hammer when I bought Hammer M3. It DOES NOT need a buff. I barely noticed the increased pellet spread. A simple way to counteract the increased pellet spread is to rock your tank (initiate reversing) right before you shoot. That seems to make almost all of the pellets connect with the enemy. You need two types of protection against a Dragon's Breath Hammer. That alone tells you that it's powerful already. Each pellet from a Dragon's Breath Hammer ignites the target 3.3% of maximum temperature. If all pellets connect, then you've ignited the enemy at 29.7% of maximum temperature. With this, it is just barely below 30% which would give a 3rd tick of afterburn damage. This is why you see that the enemy is still a bit red but yet doesn't give you that third tick; it's literally sitting on the edge of that 3rd tick. Overall, I think this alteration is a slight upgrade to Hammer instead of an alteration. It's unlikely to do the last part as afterburn damage is currently locked at 300 damage/sec. I do not think the alteration needs a buff. It's already cheap; why make it more powerful than it already is?

"Noob" I'm tired of seeing that damn word in every low-rank battle. I'm tired of seeing that damn word in this game in general.

Players these days, in general, are selfish (from what I've noticed). Using Hyperspace Rounds requires cooperation from at least one of your teammates. I'm a generous person. I know the mechanics of all the alterations, especially Hyperspace Rounds. Whenever I see a Hyperspace Rounds user, I make sure to get their attention by flicking my Isida beam on their tank and going in front of them. Hyperspace is a blatant upgrade to Railgun. Just one ally being in front of your shot could be the difference between a victory and a defeat for your team. The unwritten drawback of this alteration is that it's hard to get your teammates to cooperate with you to destroy the enemy team or to achieve the highest efficiency for your Railgun. The damage doubles even when it goes through teammates so all you need is one to be able to one shot players without protection against you. If you cannot get your teammates to cooperate, then try to snag two enemies with one shot as many times as you can. In 1v1 situations, it is not too different from Stock Railgun as the average damage for Hyperspace Railgun is only 80 damage lower than that of Unaltered Rail. The only thing that's noticeable is the impact force decrease but it still packs a punch against Vikings and light hulls. If the terrain and the prop positions permit it, I suggest staying behind a teammate (preferably a Hunter, Dictator or heavy hull) and shooting them. Before you do this action, however, you should look at what turret they're using. Refrain from doing this to Shaft users unless you know that they are not in Sniper mode. Refrain from using them when they are in Sniper mode. It is recommended to do this to players using medium to long-range turrets. I highly recommend using Hyperspace Railgun on the map Parma. You find at least 2 enemies in their base on that map. When 6 of them are there, you can usually line up 4 enemies in your shot and you can kill the last two. You have other M3 turrets you can use. Utilise Hyperspace Railgun only when needed.

It's honestly kind of sad to see this. I see players like Cowboy too often in the game. He used M2 Railgun and M2 Viking with the Round DeSTUPIDilisation alt. He's getting mad because I'm killing him and his team is not magically jumping in front of him when one of my team's Shaft's laser is shone on him. I hate seeing players like him. They're the ones maintaining the unneeded toxicity in the game. That part when he said "see ahaha'", I had shot him with full power but stock M2 Shaft can't one-shot a stock M2 Viking. He found it fit to point that out in the most obnoxious way. Then he said "ez win" although it was my team who had won. These people honestly confuse me and it's very pathetic to be like these people. What fun do they gain from this? Continuing the stereotype...it's not surprising:

@Jameden I think the highest amount of kills I got in a MM battle with Shaft is 34. Anyways, I love it when they curse you. I just put a smiley face when they send me profanities. I only respond when they call me a hacker. Another factor to your success is that you are being placed with ranks lower than you. I wanna see how good you do when the ranks are higher. It'll be harder but it's satisfying to kill the higher ranks when they underestimate your Shaft's power. :)

The way I see it, all turrets should be able to dominate in DM depending on how lucky they are. I can see Shaft and Vulcan being a small exception but I don't like that Freezes are the ones that are constantly coming first in DM, often with a large gap between them and 2nd place. That is the only thing that's keeping me from ranting even further about Freeze; it is a melee-ranged turret meaning it should have good damage up close but honestly, it's just too much. This is just from my perspective of being on the receiving end of them. You may have had experiences with the Freezes being dominated by other turrets but this is just my experience against it.

What about the High-Calibre Rounds isn't useful in most situations?
-
I admire your ambiguity.
-
Did that to people the other day. I made sure to do it 2 seconds before it touched anyone :D.
-
Not true. There were many times where a Railgun with that alteration flipped medium hulls when they were going up a ramp. With Unaltered Railgun, it's somewhat hard to flip them but with that alteration, the difficulty decreases by a lot. Unaltered Railgun's impact force is already strong so a 20% increase is lethal. That amount of impact force means life or death in many encounters.
-
That's the power of the Sledgehammer.
-
Yeah, in many there were 0 golds but for some, there were 3+,5+ etc. I was in a battle where 9 regular golds dropped and two players had dropped 4 golds each. Never had more fun denying players Gold Boxes right before they touch it with my Shaft. :D

This is an upgrade and not an alteration. With Striker's alteration, at M4, you only have 1.8 seconds to detonate the missile before you shoot another one. The problem I'm seeing with this one is that you could have it charged up and moving around the map. You go around the corner and you see a player. That player sees you. What happens? You shoot the guy instantly. The guy didn't have a time window to protect himself. Say he was using Smoky, or Thunder or any turret that immediately impacts you as you press spacebar. The Rail would still win. There is a window of vulnerability for Railgun. You're practically taking away Railgun's window of vulnerability which would piss a lot of players off. For this to work, it has to have some sort of downside. It simply cannot work for Railgun.
-
And that is the point of Freeze; that's Freeze's special mechanic. It would be great if the Freeze didn't kill you before the minimum temperature kicks in. For a turret that's supposed to freeze tanks, its damage is too darn high.
-
Never. If it were that then why do most of the Railgunners use Shell Destabilisation? The damage range is too wide. With that wide damage range, for M4, it has a new average damage which is equivalent to the damage you get for having a very lucky shot with Unaltered M4 Railgun. Also, most of the shots I receive from these players are the shots on the high end of the spectrum and it's annoying. I almost never get any shots that deal less than 600 damage to me. I'm tired of my M2 Hunter with double armour enabled being one-shotted by an M2 Railgun with that alteration. I can excuse a Railgunner with Large Calibre Rounds enabled one-shotting me but not a Shell Destabilisation user. Shell Destabilisation is broken. It has a bad downside but that downside is almost negated by it's upside.

I mentioned this in a long post I wrote last year. It would be great if the same thing is applied to Electromagnetic Accelerator "Scout" explained above. For any more ideas like this, you may find some suggestions here.

What is the biggest difference between ranks in MM battles that you have seen?
TheCongoSpider replied to Initiate in Archive
Yeah, I remember that specific rank bracket (Captain to Marshal). That rank bracket is burned into my memory because I would play in many battles where it was very noticeable to see the lowest rank was Captain and the highest was Marshal. Here's one when my alternate account was at WO5. sfdugut was 9 ranks above me. Some MM battles have close ranks brackets that range from 3-5 ranks. The more commons ones are the ones where the highest rank is 7-9 ranks above the lowest rank. In some instances, the rank bracket stretches above 9 ranks and goes to 10-11 ranks as seen here: I'm pretty sure I haven't seen any rank brackets above 11 ranks. -
Sigh. Please don't stoop to their level. If they're frustrating you, just leave. Don't send a hate message before you leave, just leave. It's good to vent but it would ultimately make no sense as it wouldn't sway the team to do better in that particular battle or in the near future.
-
I could have had a lot of battles like that but some random rail with Round DeSTUPIDilisation one-shots me in the last 30 seconds. It's always those Railguns. I use a medium hull with Shaft so yeah, I don't have as many HP points as you do. I'm thinking of upgrading titan when I get to Captain. My Shaft is now 10/10. My first M2 (M1 10/10) turret could have been Firebird or Striker as they're still at 9/10 but I decided on Shaft because it's just too much fun to put down now. The fun is dissipating though because I faced a lot of medium hulls today that had more HP than the amount of damage I did.
-
Heh, I wasn't expecting anyone in the high ranks to use it with their M2 Thunder tbh. If it were M3 or maybe M3.5, it would have probably dominated but your score is fine. I wonder if any of your teammates called you out for using an M2 at your rank. With M2 Thunder, I'd expect players to get a lot of assists but when it's M4, they're the one dealing the killing blow almost every time. I won't play with Thunder though. I made a promise not to play with Thunder on both of my two accounts. The promise was really made for TheCongoSpider but I extended it to my alternate account as well.
-
I don't think that's something they should or even can prevent. I've encountered some players with more than 7000 GS who were at a lower rank than him. We need them for the game to keep running so you're just gonna have to live with it and adapt.

I'll be sure to friend you when I get time again. I needed to upgrade my Shaft as much as possible to stay competitive in this day and age of Tanki. One thing that I've realised is how 'lazy' some players may be. My Shaft currently does 2294 damage for a fully charged scope shot. That is the same number of health M2 Hunter 0/10 has. I can essentially one-shot M2 Hunters if they have no upgrades. Dictator is another story though. The upgrade before my current MU level, I was able to one-shot an M2 Dictator with 0/10 upgrades. I am still able to one-shot them and now I can do that if they have 1/10 upgrades at most. What I realised is that when my damage was at 2250, I was still able to one-shot the majority of Dictators I encountered that were at full health. Which makes me wonder, are these players lazy? I had a feeling this would have been a factor so I kept testing it out. 100% of the Dictators I was able to one-shot at 2250 were Dictators that did not turn their turret; on an irrelevant note, the heavy majority of them were using Thunder with it. Now, I don't know about you guys, but when I buy a new modification of equipment, I would always have some crystals remaining whether it be 10k+ or 1k, 2k or a bit more, I would still have some crystals remaining. I use these crystals to start upgrading the new turret/hull/protection module. I find it baffling that these players don't do that with their hulls. It's only 100 crystals. It was kind of sad to see these players in battles because they've been playing with Dictator for hours yet they haven't touched any of its upgrades once. These are the ones that buy the Simoon Kit or the Boar Kit. Are they lazy? Do they think that they are powerful enough to dominate so they don't have to upgrade anything? Did they suddenly forget that MUs were a thing? I'll never know but it would continue to baffle me until it doesn't. I still love using Shaft. I just love it when I kill a buyer with a Hornet M2 right after he uses his Overdrive. One thing I've noticed is that a lot of players have started insulting me and cursing me because I'm killing them with Shaft. In a good game, I would get the second or third highest, if not the most kills in the battle. had so many premium users with Kits curse me in Russian just because I one-shot them. It really shows the expectations of Shafts of other players. I feel as if I'm just too good for them. I make them feel small when they try to dominate. I love it when that happens. Especially when they're using a medium hull I can one-shot. I've only been using Striker for DM battles any other team battle, I've been using Shaft. I already accumulated 11 hours on it.
